I'll sit at the kid's table!

When I was growing up and my family gathered for our annual Thanksgiving meal, there was usually a "kid's table" where all of the children were supposed to eat.  As a youngster, I didn't want to sit at that table because it implied that I wasn't grown up.  Now that I'm an adult, I sometimes would rather sit there!

I thought that these little cups would make any kid's table fun and festive.  And, when your little one sees their name they'll know where to sit and hopefully be excited about it!  Actually, these goodie cups could be decorated for just about any event or occasion.

To make these, I purchased Wilton Nut & Party Cups (2 inch diameter) and then used the Cupcake Wrapper template from The Cutting Cafe' to wrap around the Wilton cups.  Then I filled them with dried cranberries and raisins.  The Cupcake Wrapper template is also adorable to wrap around an actual baked cupcake.

This Thanksgiving, no matter which table I'm sitting at I'll be thinking of how blessed and thankful I am!

Have a wonderful, fabulous week!

Folder for my thoughts...

This time of the year brings SO MANY cute craft and baking ideas.  As I flip through magazines, loads of adorable projects are sure to catch my eye.  So I made this little file folder.  It's just the right size to store my magazine clippings.  I'm sure I'll be making one for the Holidays too.  Think of all the fun cooking and craft ideas there will be!  So much goodness...so little time!

I entered this in the Paper Crafts October Gallery Challenge a couple of weeks ago.  I think the deadline has already passed however, you can find more information here.   Have fun!

One last time!!

I couldn't resist making ONE LAST Halloween card this month!  Now, that's not to say I won't be posting a couple of Halloween projects in the next few days but this IS the last card.  {wink} I always have so much fun with this holiday and after seeing all the darling Halloween creations at 2 Sketches 4 You, I had to join in.  This card was inspired by Laura's sketch #37

This was an easy and quick card to make.  As I was digging through my ribbon and trim stash, I found this leftover pom pom trim.  It was the EXACT correct size to fit across the top of the card.  Nope, I didn't have to cut it one bit!  Love it when that happens!!  You may notice that the little chipboard owl's wings and feet have a glittery sheen to them.  Fun!

Enjoy your weekend.  My family and I are looking forward to going out to dinner with Ingrid and Eric!  Yippee!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink; Pattern Paper:  My Mind's Eye, Papertrey Ink; Chipboard:  My Mind's Eye, Making Memories; Rhinestones:  Doodlebug Designs; Ribbon:  Offray; Lace, pom pom trim & button:  craft supply

Welcome Friend!

This is an exciting week for me because I finally got to meet a very special friend.   Ingrid is someone that I met through this world of blogging and it seems like we instantly became friends.  Although we had never met in person, her friendship has been wonderful!

To celebrate Ingrid's arrival, I made this little paper mache' box for her.  One of her favorite paper brands is October Afternoon so I thought it would be nice to make her something October Afternoon-ish that would also remind her of the USA.  Hence the red, white and blue.  I put some little travel goodies like lip balm, mints, and a votive candle for her hotel room in the box.

As some of you know, there are some amazing ribbon stores here so I took her shopping this morning.  We were giddy looking at the thousands (literally) of ribbon spools!!  We also have plans to go to my favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner on Saturday.  It will be so much fun.  Can't wait!

Ingrid already has amazing photos of her visit if you want to check them out here.

Gettin' Crafty with it!!

When my son and I went to visit my parents several weeks ago, my Mom had a recipe for these fun spider web cupcakes.  The three of us had a blast making them!  And they were very yummy, too!  The spider web is made from white chocolate that we drizzled on wax paper.  The wax paper had a web template placed underneath.  Once the chocolate hardened, we carefully peeled it off the wax paper and placed it on the cupcake.  The spiders are similar to confetti so they have to be removed before eating.

Next is a paper mache' haunted house that I'd like to share with you.  My mom painted it black but my son did ALL the decorating.  I just stood back and watched the glitter fly!  Boy did he have fun with this!!! There is a lot of glitter on it and I just can't imagine it any other way!!    ;o)

I hope you enjoyed our projects and that you'll find yourself "Gettin' Crafty with it" today!

It's a Banner Day!

I've been hoarding this cute Anna Griffin paper FOREVER!  I've used it sparingly in the past but when I decided to participate in the CARDS Blog "Banner" challenge I decided that I just shouldn't hold back.    Yes, I admit I could barely look when I slid the cutting blade across these papers but when I stepped back to look at the finished product, I was glad I decided to go for it!

By the way, take a look here!  {wink!}
